For the twelfth year running the Jazzwerkstatt Bern hosts guests from around the world at the PROGR center in Bern. More than 90 performers from Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa, USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Macedonia, Greece, Lebanon, Holland, England, Ireland, France and Slovakia will be making new connections, forming new ensembles, and presenting bands that, frankly, everyone should already have been talking about for ages now. Jazzwerkstatt Bern is about exchange and networking, curiosity and experimentation, in short: for music that thinks outside the box. Many of the rehearsals for the numerous world premieres at the festival will be open to the public in the afternoon at the Turnhalle space at PROGR.
